On this tour, Previte eschewed music from the Pan Atlantic record and instead had the band play music from all of the bands he called Bump: Vintage Bump, Classic Bump, and the New Bump. This music was never before played by any other ensemble, and the the band's take on it was fresh and exciting, resulting in this offering of almost TWO HOURS of music.
This record was mixed from a beautifully recorded multi-track recording. Mixed and mastered by Bobby Previte.
About the Pan Atlantic Band:
A meeting of some of the hottest players in Europe and Bobby Previte, the Pan Atlantic Band began in 2008 after Previte met Gianluca Petrella. Hearing so many great European musicians in his years of touring, Bobby wanted to get a chance to play with more of them. So he asked Petrella, the trombonist, bandleader, and rising star of Italian music, to join the band. Next he looked towards Vienna and found Wolfgang Puschnig, the legendary saxophonist who has led many bands, and has played with Carla Bley and many more great musicians. On piano his good friend Marc Ducret recommended parisian Benoit Delbecq, a deep thinking pianist equally at home with the music of John Cage as he is with jazz. Finally, the fantastic Danish electric bass player Nils Davidsen joined, and the international PAN ATLANTIC band was complete.
